TWYNHOLM VILLAGE
Unlike many other villages bypassed through road re-alignment, Twynholm has not allowed itself to be bypassed by the 21st Century. It has retained its Scottish country character and has a pleasant busyness about it.
The village shop and post office is adjacent to the cottage - where most essential provisions can be got. We still have a primary school, a church and a garage with a petrol station. And of course the village has a very famous son - David Coulthard - the Formula1 racing driver.

David's family have lived in the village over several generations where they established a very successful haulage business. A few yards from the cottage is The Star Hotel - so often referred to by Murray Walker in his racing commentaries, where there is a pleasant lounge bar serving meals.
In celebration of David's success the village is home to the David Coulthard Museum which not only contains trophies and memorabilia of his driving career, but also a selection of the cars he has won in. Website>>

HOW TO FIND US
Twynholm Village is very easy to find as it is adjacent to the A75 Carlisle to Stranraer Road. Bypassed a few years ago the main street now carries only light local traffic.
From Carlisle and Dumfries, follow the A75 westwards toward Stranraer. About 10 miles west of Castle Douglas the village is clearly signed. Travel along the Main Street until you see the village shop. The cottage is No.47 Main Street, immediately adjacent to the shop
From Stranraer, follow the A75 eastwards towards Dumfries and Carlisle. You will pass the town of Gatehouse on your left and continue on up the hill. A few miles further on the village of Twynholm is clearly signed to the right. Enter the village and follow Main Street until you see the village shop. The cottage is No.47 Main Street, immediately adjacent to the shop.
